UNITE!
The noted artist Paul Davis was commissioned by the union to produce this poster for the founding convention of UNITE in 1995, where it was then signed by many of the people at the convention. UNITE was created when two nearly century old unions representing workers in the garment industry--the International Ladies' Garment Workers' Union (ILGWU) and the Amalgamated Clothing and Textile Workers Union (ACTWU)-- joined forces. UNITE! itself has recently merged with the Hotel Employees and Restaurant Employees Union (HERE), producing the colorful name UNITE HERE!
